I provide cross-cultural counselling for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including immigrants, expats, international students, and those navigating multicultural identities.
Below are some common areas I work with, but our work together will be shaped by your individual needs. If you don’t see your specific concern here, please feel free to reach out.
Growing up or living between cultures can feel like belonging everywhere and nowhere at once. You may struggle with identity or the pressure to fit in with conflicting cultural expectations. Together, we can navigate these experiences so you feel more grounded, connected, and at home within yourself.
Whether you're adjusting to a new country or have long been balancing multiple cultural influences, I can support you in finding stability, confidence, and a sense of belonging in your unique journey.
Adjusting to new environments and expectations can feel overwhelming, especially when cultural pressures make you feel torn. Together, we can navigate stress, set boundaries, and create a life that aligns with your values and aspirations.
Navigating relationships across cultures comes with unique challenges. I can help you improve communication, deepen understanding, and work through cultural differences, identity shifts, or personal expectations.
If you’ve spent years trying to fit in different environments, you might lose sight of who you are. You might say the right things, meet expectations, or avoid conflict—but at the cost of your true self. Together, we can explore these patterns so you can reconnect with your voice and feel more confident being yourself.
Beyond cultural-related issues, I offer support with personal concerns such as anxiety, self-esteem, or feeling stuck. Whatever you’re facing, we’ll work together to help you enhance your overall well-being.
Hi, I’m Trang—welcome! I’m a Multicultural Counsellor passionate about working with cross-cultural individuals because I am one myself.
I was born in Vietnam, raised in Romania, and now live in Ireland. Having moved nine times across six countries, I deeply understand what it’s like to be a cross-cultural child, an immigrant, and an expat.
Living across cultures is both enriching and challenging. As a child in Romania, I often felt different and out of place. I was ashamed of being Vietnamese because I desperately wanted to fit in. Over time, I grappled with questions about my identity, feeling rootless and caught between cultural expectations—never fully belonging to one place or culture.
What I’ve learned is that true belonging doesn’t come from fitting into a mould—it comes from embracing who you are, while honouring the cultures that have shaped you. We need to recognise our cultural influences, but we also have the power to grow beyond them. Through self-awareness and self-acceptance, we can create a meaningful and fulfilling life on our own terms.
This understanding is at the heart of my approach to therapy. In our globalised world, our multicultural environment profoundly shapes our experiences, and I believe therapy must acknowledge and integrate this dimension. Cross-cultural individuals deserve to be seen and understood in their full complexity—their personal histories, identities, and the multi-layered cultural worlds they navigate daily.
I’m here to help you find your voice in your unique experience. Making sense of your story and embracing your wholeness is an essential step toward healing and growth.
Multicultural counseling grounds therapy in an understanding of your unique cultural background and personal history. This approach recognizes how your cross-cultural experiences and way of life deeply shape your identity, relationships, and sense of belonging.
Together, we’ll explore how culture shapes your life, helping you fully accept and understand all parts of who you are, so you can feel more at peace with yourself. Our goal is not just to bring different aspects of yourself together, but to help you find a balance that feels authentic and fulfilling for you.
I’m trained in Psychosynthesis, an integrative therapy that helps you reconnect with all parts of yourself and live in a way that truly reflects your values and potential. This approach helps you not only understand how your history impacts your present emotions and behaviors, but also taps into your innate drive for growth, meaning, and creativity. As we explore the challenges you face, we’ll also uncover the strengths and aspirations that can help you move forward, enabling you to make intentional choices that feel right for you.
This process also considers how your cultural experience weaves into your personal history and present life, shaping both strengths and challenges. By recognising these influences, you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your path forward. This holistic approach creates space for growth, clarity, and a deeper sense of purpose—helping you step into a more authentic and fulfilling version of yourself.
